We are looking to hire a Cook to join our team. The Cook performs all necessary duties to uphold the community's standards of quality and excellence in food, service, and hospitality. The position is responsible for preparing well-presented meals in a timely fashion according to the scheduled menu and/or resident requests. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Performs all aspects of meal preparation, cooking and presentation as assigned * Completes prep work as required for future meals * Assists in the completion of the order sheets to maintain the appropriate level of supplies and inventory * Maintains refrigerator and freezer in an organized manner and as required by the health department * Assists in the storage of stock items that have been delivered * Maintains a clean and safe workspace and work environment * Sweeps and mops kitchen area as assigned * Assists wait staff when required and needed * Adheres to all food handling regulations * Knows and uses provided Universal Precautions and Personal Protective Equipment, according to requirements established by OSHA PERSONAL QUALITIES: * Flexible, innovative and demonstrates the ability to make sound decisions * High integrity, positive attitude, mission driven and self-directed * Passion, dedication and commitment for providing seniors an engaging, enlivening and captivating living environment * Be proactive to identify issues before they occur * Able to handle problems as they arise in relation to the operation of the community * Collect data and establish facts to draw valid conclusion when problems arrive.
