The focus of this position is assisting in kitchen operations and culinary experience for optimal guest satisfaction through cooking. We’re currently seeking a cook who has previous experience in a kitchen operation and enjoys being a part of a crew. Your work will include preparing, cooking and serving delicious meals several days a week to help give the other cooks some days off, using pre-established menus. SPECIFICS & COMPESNATION Pay rate will start at $18.00/hour with opportunities to grow and increase responsibility and pay rate up to $20.00/hour. Position starts as soon as possible. Hours may range from 6-40 hours a week, with shifts being Breakfast/Lunch (5am-2pm) and Dinner (2pm-8pm). Requirements ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Food Preparation 1. Review prep sheets that adequately contain the menu items required. 2. Organize and delegate tasks required to provide menu items to guests, aka kitchen prep. 3. Implement menu with approved recipes that provide high quality of food safety, taste, appearance, and overall completeness. 4. Deliver food at the appropriate time to various dining locations. 5. Meet or exceed required food sanitation at all times. 6. Recommend improvements to menu/recipes. Guest Service 1. Maintain a high degree of guest service in all dining locations, including out-camps. 2. Supervise efficient and effective dining room presentation so that the space is clean, organized, at a comfortable temperature, and guests are welcomed hospitably. 3. Courteously and professionally answer guest questions and meet needs during the meal period. Meal Clean-up 1. Efficiently organize and carry out clean-up in ways that optimize labor resources, safely preserve left-over food and meet or exceed sanitation standards. 2. Organize and assign tasks so that pots and pans, dishes, and utensils are cleaned and sanitized; serving line and prep area is cleaned and sanitized; tables/chairs and high chairs are cleaned and sanitized; floors are swept and mopped; windows, window sills and other surfaces are cleaned. Supervision 1. Delegate tasks to kitchen workers on duty. 2. Hold kitchen employees accountable for their actions. 3. Compliment and encourage employees when appropriate. 4. Make sure that employees are completing their work in an accurate and efficient way.
