We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Weekend Cook to join our team. You will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of menu items, from breakfasts and light lunches to freshly baked cakes and scones, ensuring each dish is delivered to our high standards. This is a hands-on role in a busy kitchen, ideal for someone who thrives under pressure and has a passion for great food.

  • Prepare and cook menu items in line with recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
  • Bake and prepare sweet and savoury items.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment in compliance with food hygiene regulations.
  • Manage stock levels for weekend service and communicate replenishment needs.
  • Work efficiently to meet high demand during peak service hours.
  • Support the team with dishwashing and kitchen cleaning tasks when necessary.
  • Uphold excellent food safety, hygiene, and allergen practices at all times.
  • Proven experience as a cook, chef, or baker (tea room / café experience preferred).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
  • Strong time-management skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene best practices (Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate preferred).
  • A friendly, positive, and flexible approach to work.
