Job Description Oaks Cairns Hotel are looking for skilled and experienced Cook to join our kitchen team on a Casual basis. This role is essential in supporting the smooth operation of the kitchen, preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to a consistently high standard, and helping deliver an exceptional dining experience for guests. Key Responsibilities Include: Prepare ingredients and assist with the cooking and plating of meals. Cook a variety of dishes in line with menu standards and guest expectations. Ensure excellent presentation of meals before service. Maintain proper food storage, safety, and hygiene standards. Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and compliant with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements. Support team members to ensure smooth daily kitchen operations. Shift Details (subject to change): Rotating roster across Monday to Sunday Shifts scheduled across breakfast and dinner periods Casual position, currently offering minimum 20 hours per week. Additional hours may be available, however subject to change. Immediate start available Hourly Rates (excluding superannuation): Monday - Friday: $32.31 per hour Saturday: $38.78 per hour Sunday: $45.24 per hour Qualifications To be successful in this role you will have: Minimum 12 months experience as a cook or in a similar kitchen role. Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team. Positive, proactive attitude and genuine passion for cooking.
