Cooks are in charge of cooking food, prepping ingredients, assembling dishes, while working alongside and following the orders of the head chef and maintaining quality assurance.
Cooks may also help in preparing food for cooking and stock necessary supplies, such as chopping vegetables, preparing sauces and separating meat, while working in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
Cook Position Requirements:
- Must have Food Handler’s License
- Adequate knife skills
- Ability to provide good quality of work and great memory is an asset
- Required to be able to be on your feet for long periods of time
Cook’s Job Duties:
- Memorize the menus in both Tagalog and English
- Know how to cook all orders presented in the dining and catering menu
- Maintain the kitchen area for cleanliness
- Store and organize kitchen utensils and equipment
- Prepare all food orders in a timely matter to prevent delay and back log during lunch or dinner service
- Must communicate efficiently and accurately with servers and dispatcher to prevent mistakes during peak hours of service. Alert team lead if help needed to assist in prep area.
