Ebenezer is looking for a Cook/Chef to join our Assisted Living team at Amira Choice Sarasota Senior Living. This position is responsible for preparing and cooking meals as assigned using standardized recipes to meet established culinary standards of high quality care. Culinary position will plate food for optimal eye appeal to entice food consumption by our residents in our Senior Living Community located in Sarasota, FL. This flexible schedule culinary services position includes; casual / on call Days and early evenings Responsibilities: Handles and prepares food in a safe manner following policies and infection control and safety standards. Ensure timely production and meal service is provided to residents Set up line service Clean and sanitize equipment and work area after each use Assists with special events Assists Culinary Director with supervision and training of culinary staff Performs other duties as assigned and directed Required: ServSafe certification, or must be acquired within 90 days of start date Basic math skills and comfortable using Microsoft applications Must have good problem solving and time leadership skills Good written and oral communication skills Must be 18 years of age or older Preferred: Vocational/technical training/education/degree High School Diploma/GED preferred Cooking experience in a similar environment Scratch cooking experience Benefit Overview Ebenezer offers a generous benefits package, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision plans, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, PTO and Sick and Safe Time, tuition reimbursement, retirement, early access to earned wages, and more!
