Description

Responsible for the daily operations of the kitchen and provide professional leadership as well as direction to kitchen personnel.
Ensure that all recipes, food preparations and presentations meet restaurant’s specifications and commitment to quality.
Maintain a safe, orderly and sanitise kitchen. Demonstrate this by example and by using proper food-handling techniques.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Certificate IV in Commercial cookery or other equivalent qualifications and 1 year of relevant work experience. ( 3 years of relevant work experience acceptable)
  • Strong culinary and leadership skills with a hands-on approach
  • Maintaining a healthy and cooperative relationship with all the restaurant teams.
  • Assisting the kitchen management team to ensure the quality and consistency of our product is maintained to the standards expected.
  • Adhering to the kitchen’s hygiene processes and procedures and assisting with hygiene records.
  • Maintenance of stock levels with regards to prep and ensuring the management team are aware of any ordering requirements.
  • Ability to manage costs and drive operational efficiency
  • Ability to remain calm in fast past environment

Responsibilities
  • Preparing Daily production List
  • Ensuring that all stations remain stocked before and during the meal period
  • Verifying that kitchen staff follow all recipes and portion servings correctly
  • Keeping Kitchen, Dish and storage area clean and organised
  • Placing food and supply orders as directed
  • Receiving Products by verifying invoices and freshness of merchandise
  • Assisting with Training employees to company standards
  • Setting Excellent Customer service and work examples
  • Actively participating as a member of the management team
  • Managing Staffing levels throughout the shift
  • Overseeing kitchen labour and food costs to budgetary requirements
  • Performing additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by the Head Chef at any time.
  • Preparing and serving of All hot and cold entrees, dips, soups, main courses
  • Monitoring and controlling wastage, portion control on day-to-day basis
  • Responsibility in Ensuring food safety and kitchen sanitation as per requirements
