Self employed preferable, but would consider offering a seasonal employed contract. We are seeking a skilled and passionate person to join our team, as a cook/chef, in our busy rural cafe. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen and delivering high-quality, yet simple, meals to our customers, sometimes under pressure. If you have a passion for cooking, good culinary skills, and a strong work ethic, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals according to recipes and food safety standards
- Assist with meal preparation
- Ensure that all food is prepared and presented in a timely manner
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area
- Follow proper food handling and storage procedures
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth workflow and efficient operations
- Assist with inventory management and stock rotation
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations
Experience:
- Previous experience working in a kitchen or culinary environment is preferred
- Knowledge of food safety practices and procedures
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
