Job Title: Chef/Cook – The Hollies Care Home
We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate 2nd Chef to join our team.
Working 22.5hrs a week, with typical working hours of 07:00 - 16:00

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Supporting the Head Chef in delivering high-quality meals that meet residents’ dietary needs and preferences.
  • Ensuring the catering service and dining experience are of the highest standard.
  • Monitoring food stock levels and working within budget to ensure efficiency.
  • Assisting with kitchen audits and ensuring compliance with food safety and health & safety regulations.
  • Engaging with residents to ensure meal satisfaction and promote choice and dignity.
  • Ensuring the cleanliness of the kitchen and adherence to hygiene standards.
  • Liaising with suppliers to maintain quality and value in food provision.
  • Supporting and motivating the kitchen team to maintain high service standards.

What We Ask in Return:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Food Hygiene (or willingness to obtain).
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a catering environment.
  • Experience working in a care home setting (desirable but not essential).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of health & safety and food safety regulations.
  • A flexible and positive approach to work, with the ability to adapt to change.
