Description
  Position Description:   Perform duties to ensure proper cook and chill methods are conducted in accordance with product specification and USDA regulations.   Primary Responsibilities: * Prepare cook or chill tanks by filling and setting temperatures * Prepare dollies for cook process * Monitor tank water levels, temperatures, and equipment performance throughout the cook/chill processes, making adjustments as needed * Record product and cook information on appropriate forms or enter into computer system * Select appropriate recipe programs in computer system * Pull racks of product and move to next phase of process * Conduct hand probe temperature readings on cooked product * Maintain safe and clean work environment by complying with employee and food safety procedures, rules, and regulations * Operate jeep/walker for the movement of product * Complies with and adheres to all employee safety and food safety programs * Perform other duties as assigned   Supervisory/Management Responsibilities: Not applicable   Position Requirements: * Able to speak, read, and write English, bilingual Spanish preferred * High school graduate or equivalent * Basic computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office programs * Proficient with basic math skills * Willing and able to work overtime and weekends * One to three years related experience preferred * Knowledge of GMP, HACCP and USDA regulations preferred   Physical Requirements: * Able to lift more than 50 pounds daily * Able to push/pull between 1000-1500 lbs with assistance daily * Able to tolerate extreme temperatures daily * Able to climb vertical ladders 3-4 feet off ground frequently throughout the day * Walking or standing 100% of day * Bending/stooping daily   Training Period: Minimum 90 days meeting all above requirements; up to one year   This is a union position and comes with benefits provided by the union, upon completion of the 90 day probationary period.
