Con & Poppy Pty Ltd is looking for a qualified cook to join the team. We are a busy restaurant and serving high volume of quality and fresh food menu. We specialise in Greek food and operate multiple restaurants. This is a busy position and will require applicant who has previous experience in a similar role and cuisine. We value teamwork and are looking for a qualified and experienced cook to join our team.
To be successful in this role you must have 2 years work experience in a busy kitchen environment and also experience in relevant cuisines. Certificate IV in relevant discipline or equivalent qualification as well as knowledge of all kitchen operation, quality assurance and OH&S.
About the Role:

Your duties and responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

  • Create and prepare high-quality dishes with a focus on innovation and taste.
  • Competently cook and season all menu items for various services using various techniques and equipments as well as meet dietary requirements
  • Plating, portioning and presentation of food
  • Assist in menu planning and estimate food and labour requirement
  • Ensure compliance with health, hygiene and safety standards.
  • Understanding to manage inventory, order supplies, stock control, culinary techniques and kitchen equipments.
  • Maintain standards for food storage
  • Lead and inspire a team of kitchen staff to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
  • Train new and junior staffs for various cuisine and cooking techniques and methods
  • Supervise the food preparation, quality and presentation of food menu
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in fast paced atmosphere

About you
The successful candidate must satisfy the following criteria:
- Preferred 2 years experience in a busy restaurant.
- Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques and methods in relevant cuisines
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work with team, under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Culinary degree Certificate IV level or equivalent certification preferred.
