ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR COOK:

  • Be contractually willing to work towards a Level 3 catering qualification if you do not already have one
  • Two years’ catering experience.
  • One years’ experience of managing people.
  • Knowledge of health and safety in the workplace.
  • Experience conducting effective person centred one to ones
  • Live within 20 minutes of the Home.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS FOR COOK:

  • One years’ experience working in a similar role in a residential or nursing home; or
  • Hold a Level 3 qualification.
  • One years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Two years catering experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience creating nutritious, well balanced and attractive menus.
  • managing/training a team.
  • budgeting and control of purchasing.
  • motivating and working within a team.
  • using new products and developments in the catering industry.
  • One years’ experience of working as a Chef in a Hospital, Nursing Home or Residential Home
  • Conduct effective person centred one to ones

DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR COOK:

  • You will provide, manage, and develop a high-quality catering service to our residents, guests and visitors to the home.
  • You will operate a safe, professional, and cost-effective catering service within the company operational standards and comply with all statutory requirements.
  • You will ensure that all our residents are provided with enough choice of nutritious meals and snacks throughout the day, broadly following the standard menus.
  • You will ensure that food orders are made punctually two times a week and that the food costs are within budget throughout the year.
