Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Cook to join our kitchen team full-time. This role plays a vital part in supporting our day-to-day kitchen operations and ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality food to our patrons.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in managing and operating the kitchen under the direction of the Head Chef, including preparing rosters and arranging shift cover when needed.
  • Prepare, cook, and present meals to a consistently high standard and within set timeframes.
  • Ensure kitchen cleanliness and hygiene are maintained in line with health and safety standards, including managing daily and periodic cleaning schedules.
  • Monitor the appearance and presentation of kitchen staff in line with uniform policy and uphold professional conduct in the kitchen.
  • Assist with stock control, stocktaking, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Prepare dishes using high-quality ingredients while supporting the maintenance of targeted gross profit (GP) margins.
  • Liaise with the Hotel Manager to ensure daily specials are prepared, displayed, and promoted effectively.
  • Ensure timely communication between the kitchen and front-of-house staff regarding bookings and special requirements.
  • Monitor kitchen equipment to ensure it is safely maintained and free from potential hazards.
  • Provide basic training and support to junior kitchen staff to promote a collaborative and productive working environment.
  • Carry out additional duties as required, in line with the position and your experience.
