JOB SUMMARY:

As a Cook at Endless Pastabilities, you will play a vital role in our kitchen operations, working under the guidance of the Head Chef and Lead Chef. You will be cross trained to prepare ingredients in advance of services to ensure a smooth cooking process. You will also be responsible for cooking and assembling dishes according to our menu specifications. This role requires teamwork, attention to detail, and a passion for high-quality food.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience such as knife skills and knowledge of cooking techniques is preferred.
  • Commitment to food safety and to maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen.
  • Keen attention to detail and strong passion for delivering exceptional food to guests.
  • Ability to work effectively as a collaborative team member in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Dexterity and manual skills including hand-eye coordination and knife skills
  • Ability to reach overhead regularly
  • Ability to bend and squat frequently
  • Ability to handle hot items and heavy equipment safely
  • Endurance and stamina to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high pressure environment, including managing multiple tasks and responding quickly to changing conditions
  • Temperature tolerance for working in a hot kitchen and handling cold ingredients / storage areas
  • Keen sense of taste, smell, and visual inspection for ensuring food quality and presentation.
  • Awareness of safety protocols to avoid cuts, burns, slips, and falls. This includes using proper equipment and techniques to minimize injury risks.
Responsibilities
  • Service Excellence:
  • Wash, peel, chop, and measure ingredients for use in various dishes. Prepare sauces, dressings, and other base components according to recipe standards.
  • Cook and assemble dishes according to guest specifications and recipe standards. Ensure that each dish meets quality standards.
  • Finish each dish with appropriate garnish to ensure that the presentation matches our specifications.
  • Compliance: Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times. Strictly follow handwashing procedures and food handling procedures to ensure food safety for our guests.
  • Quality Control: Follow recipes and portion guidelines. Focus on quality and consistency in food preparation, taste, and presentation. Conduct quality checks on prepared ingredients.
  • Coordination and Communication: Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth service, and address any special requests or dietary restrictions from guests. Manage multiple orders simultaneously and coordinate with other cooks to ensure timely and accurate service.
  • Organization: Maintain a clean, organized and well-stocked workstation. Ensure that all ingredients are properly labeled and stored. Keep your station clean, organized, and well-stocked throughout your shift. Report any issues with ingredients to a leadership team member promptly.
  • Equipment Use and Maintenance: Use kitchen equipment safely and properly. Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of equipment as needed or requested. Report any issues or concerns with equipment to a leadership team member promptly.
  • Training and Teamwork: Complete all required training, and follow company procedures. Work as an active team member and demonstrate company core values.
  • Menu Knowledge: Employ a working knowledge of all current food and beverage offerings, including specials.
  • Health and Safety: Follow all safety rules at all times. Report any issues or concerns to a leadership team member promptly.
