JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Prep Cook. This role is essential in providing high-quality meal preparation and service at our restaurant. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the food industry, with experience in fine dining and breakfast service, ensuring that all meals meet our standards for taste, presentation, and safety.

The Employee’s duties and responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to:

  • Clean and chop fruits, vegetables, and other ingredients.
  • Portion and package food items according to recipes and standards.
  • Prepare basic sauces, dressings, and mixtures.
  • Measure and mix ingredients for recipes.
  • Store food properly to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage.
  • Label and date all prepared ingredients.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Assist line cooks with various tasks as needed.
  • Operate and clean kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Additional cleaning as needed per management.
  • Monitor ingredient levels and report shortages to the head chef.

QUALIFICATIONS

Previous experience in a restaurant is preferred.

  • Strong culinary experience with a focus on food preparation, cooking, and menu planning.
  • Familiarity with food service operations in both restaurant and catering environments a plus.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
