Description Previous NOAA Charter Experience Preferred United States Seafoods is seeking an experienced Charter Cook for a NOAA scientific research charter operating in the Bering Sea. We are particularly interested in candidates with previous NOAA charter experience and/or experience serving as a cook aboard research or commercial fishing vessels. Position Details • Contract Dates: June 16, 2026 – August 18, 2026 (estimated) • Three charter legs aboard a scientific survey vessel • $500 per day • Bering Sea operations The Charter Cook is responsible for planning and preparing three daily meals for vessel crew and NOAA personnel, accommodating dietary requirements, managing galley inventory and food orders, maintaining sanitation standards, maintaining common living areas, and ensuring a professional and welcoming onboard environment. Qualified candidates should possess: • A minimum of three years' experience cooking aboard a trawl vessel • Experience preparing meals for groups of 10 or more people, including special dietary requirements • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices • Inventory management and provisioning experience • The ability to work independently and maintain a high standard of professionalism in a maritime environment United States Seafoods is a growing company offering competitive compensation and the opportunity to support critical fisheries research alongside NOAA scientists and experienced vessel crews.
