Summary Cook Full-Time, 36 hours First Shift BHCOR Food Service. I Corbin, KY The Food & Nutrition Services team at Baptist Health Corbin plays an important role in supporting patient health and comfort through high-quality meal service. Food and Nutrition Services' goals are to provide a variety of nutritional, safe, attractive, healthy food choices for patients, visitors, and staff. Cooks, prepares presents, and serves food items. Ensures that food is prepared in a manner which is nutritious, safe, properly flavored and in compliance with sanitation and safety requirements, and accrediting agency standards for quality. Job Description: Cook-Full-Time Description: Food Preparation & Service (Quality, Service) Cook and prepare meals using standardized recipes; ensure correct portions for patient diets. Support special events and next-day production; maintain food quality and taste. Food Safety & Sanitation (Quality, People) Follow infection control practices, proper labeling, dating, and rotation of food items. Keep dry, refrigerated, and frozen storage areas clean and organized. Equipment Use & Cleanliness (Quality, Finance) Operate food service equipment safely; report malfunctions. Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment using approved chemicals. Safety, Policy & Compliance (Quality, People) Adhere to hospital safety policies, dress codes, and infection control procedures. Attend required safety and emergency preparedness training; participate in drills. Team Support & Growth (Growth, People, Community) Train and orient new staff; assist with cross-training to improve team flexibility. Participate in department improvement activities to enhance service and patient experience.
