About this Role: As a Cook (WHD5), you will play an important role in ensuring food services are delivered efficiently, safely, and to a high standard.  From meal preparation and plating to menu coordination and stock ordering, you'll help create a positive dining experience while supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen. Working closely with the Catering Manager, Facility Manager, and the broader care team, you will contribute to quality food production, dietary compliance, and excellent service delivery across the health unit. In This Role You Will: * Coordinate and support the efficient day-to-day operation of catering services within the health unit * Program and operate specialised equipment, machinery and computerised systems while maintaining accurate records * Prepare balanced menus and deliver high-quality meals, including special dietary requirements * Provide guidance, training and support to catering staff and apprentices to promote a collaborative team environment * Assist with food ordering, stock control and production planning while contributing to the review and improvement of procedures and work practices What You’ll Bring: * Trade qualifications, or equivalent experience, as a Cook * Experience preparing bulk meals, including special dietary needs * A positive team-focused attitude with the ability to support and guide others * Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities * Flexibility to adapt to changing rosters and operational requirements * Great communication skills and the ability to work with people from all backgrounds * Sound knowledge of food safety, food handling and safe work practices * Confidence using computer systems, including Microsoft Office programs * The ability to use initiative, work independently and maintain confidentiality * A commitment to quality service, workplace safety and continuous improvement About Us: Yorke and Northern Local Health Network (YNLHN) is committed to an inclusive and diverse workplace and encourages applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culturally diverse backgrounds, LGBTIQA+SB communities, and people living with disability and/or neurodivergence.
