The Granite Curling Club, a lively and welcoming community destination, is looking for a reliable, creative Sous Chef to join our kitchen team for the upcoming curling season. This is a full-time seasonal position running from October through April, supporting a busy calendar of games, bonspiels, banquets and events.
We’re looking for someone with strong kitchen experience, leadership ability, and a passion for great food. Experience or interest in plant-based cooking is an asset as we work to expand and modernize our menu offerings.
Responsibilities:
· Assist the Head Chef in all aspects of food preparation and kitchen operations
· Lead kitchen staff during service and help ensure high food quality and timing
· Contribute to menu development, including daily specials and event catering
· Ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with all food service regulations
· Manage prep work and kitchen organization
Qualifications:
· 2+ years of experience in a commercial kitchen (sous chef or leadership role preferred)
· Culinary training or equivalent on-the-job experience
· Team leadership, time management, and communication skills
· Availability for evening and weekend shifts during the curling season
· Plant-based or vegetarian cooking experience is an asset
