JOB SUMMARY As a Cook, you are responsible for providing The Habit Difference through food. From our award-winning Charburgers to our fresh salads, our Cooks ensure that our guests enjoy fresh, quality, cooked to order, and custom-built items from our kitchen. Cooks work together in a variety of stations to accurately and efficiently prepare and cook food items. The stations include Fryer, Broiler, Make-Up and Quarterback. Each station is responsible for a different part of the cooking process to produce quality food items. You are also responsible for adhering to all sanitation, health, personal hygiene, and safety standards as well as maintaining kitchen cleanliness and organization. As a Cook, you will be cross-trained in the different stations in the kitchen, which will increase your value to our company and may allow you to work more shifts. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS • Correctly prepare all foods served following standard recipes, working on several different orders simultaneously. • Restocks food items and kitchen supplies; stores and rotates food properly and safely. • Operate cooking equipment such as flat grills, charbroiler, fryer, slicer, etc. • Comply with all established standards, including personal safety, food safety, sanitation, personal hygiene, appearance, and uniform. • Observe proper food preparation and handling techniques. • Keep work area neat and clean at all times; cleans and maintains equipment, cooking surfaces and utensils used in food preparation. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds, but have the ability to lift up to 55 pounds. • Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time. • This position will involve some repetitive motion tasks. • This position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures. The Team Member is frequently exposed to heat, steam, fire, and noise. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS • Basic math, reading, and verbal communication skills. • Demonstrates ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment. • Excellent teamwork attitude. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS • 1 year of experience in related food service position preferred. • Food Handler’s Card/Certification may be required according to local and/or state regulations. • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on restaurant needs.
