Position:  Health Center Cook, Full-Time Schedule: Flexible to work 5:45a-2:15p, 11:30a-7:30p, 10a-6p, EOW Pay: $19 - 22 per hour + $1,500 SIGN ON BONUS! This position is responsible for full-scope, hands on production cooking in the Culinary Services Department.  Primary Responsibilities: * Ability to work all stations in the kitchen.  * Efficiently runs assigned station during the shift, follow all specs, and stock food as needed. * Maintains the quality of food and plate presentation. * Prepares all soups, stocks, sauces; boils, braises and roasts items as per standardized recipes. * Prepares and serves all sautéed, fried, grilled, steamed and baked items as per standardized recipes. * Prepares or directs the preparation of all food served, following standard recipes and special diet orders. Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours, so that excellence, quality, temperature and appearance of food is preserved. * Determines amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus and seeing that supplies are obtained from storage areas in adequate time for meal production. * Ensures all sanitation and health department guidelines are being met by maintaining cleanliness of station and assigned areas of the kitchen.   Qualifications: * SERVSafe Certification preferred. * Experience in hospital or senior living preferred. * Knowledge and experience with mechanical diets, food restrictions, allergies, etc. * Ability to perform simple arithmetic and understand measurements and conversions. * A minimum of three years’ experience as a cook in a hospital or nursing home/health center preferred, or hotel, restaurant, club or similar institution. * Ability to plan and organize work, to interpret instructions, recipes, specifications and standards. * Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance.
