Job summary One of our Leading Long Term Care Clients is looking for Cook who can Prepare and deliver nutritious meals to culturally diverse residents and implement the nutrition and food preparation program to residents.
Requirement: Cook
Pay Rate: $22.34 (hourly)
Job Location: Almonte
Shift Timings: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. & every second weekend

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience as a cook with culinary experience/certificate
  • Chef training, Institutional Cook or Culinary Management Diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills
  • Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 25 lbs
  • Proven knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as proper food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

Education:

  • Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:

  • Cooking: 1 year (required)

Language:

  • English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Food Handler Certification (required)
  • Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (required)

  • Able to follow standardized recipes; while being aware of special dietary requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English and follow oral and written instructions

  • Ability to handle heavy loads and lift heavy cooking equipment and supplies
  • Ensuring a clean and safe work environment is maintained
