SUMMARY:

The Cook I is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of food items according to recipes and established standards. This role involves working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, ensuring food quality and presentation, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Casa Gianna operates a three-meal restaurant (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), specializing in Italian cuisine, banquets, and catering services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree or certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a commercial kitchen environment.
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and safety standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Flexible schedule with full availability to work AM, PM, and night shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, specifications, and presentation standards.
  • Assist in menu planning and food preparation for daily operations and special events.
  • Monitor food inventory and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including equipment and workstations.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient service.
  • Participate in staff training and development as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
