This role is responsible for preparing nutritious meals and snacks for children while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment. Position Overview The Cook prepares daily breakfast, lunch, and snacks according to a planned menu and food program guidelines. This position plays an important role in supporting children’s health and ensuring meals are served on schedule each day. Responsibilities Prepare and serve daily meals and snacks for children Follow established menus and portion requirements Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen Receive and properly store food deliveries Track food inventory and communicate supply needs Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines Maintain required food program documentation and meal counts Ensure kitchen equipment and food preparation areas are properly maintained Work closely with leadership to ensure compliance with food program requirements Qualifications Experience preparing meals for groups preferred Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices Ability to stay organized and work efficiently on a schedule Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented Able to lift food boxes and stand for extended periods Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain) Schedule Monday–Friday Daytime hours Benefits Supportive team environment Predictable daytime schedule (no nights or weekends) Opportunity to make a positive impact on children’s daily experience If you enjoy cooking and want to work in a positive, family-focused environment, we would love to hear from you.
