We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook/ Kitchen Assistant to join our team in a Care Home environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong culinary background and a commitment to food safety and quality. As a Cook/ Kitchen Assistant , you will play a vital role in meal preparation and food preparation, ensuring that every meal meets our high standards for the needs of our individuals we care for.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience in a Care home or kitchen environment is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• A passion for cooking and creating delicious meals.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends on a rota basis.

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to the care homes menu and recipes.
• Assist in the planning and execution of daily meal preparation tasks.
• Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in the kitchen at all times.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely service.
• Help with inventory management, including ordering supplies as needed.
• Clean and organize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas after use.
• Must have a understanding of special dietary requirements and special diets prescribed by health professionals.
• Must be willing to cover annual leave with other cooks are off.
