ABOUT US:

Crossroads Hospice Society (CHS) is dedicated to providing compassionate end-of-life care in a home-like setting. We are seeking a reliable and caring cook/kitchen support staff to join our team in Port Moody. This role begins as a casual/on-call position, providing coverage for staff vacations, sick days, and other absences, with the exciting potential to grow into a permanent part-time role. It’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys flexible scheduling and meaningful work.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of 1 year of cooking experience (required)
• Experience in healthcare or hospice environment (an asset)
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and multitasking skills
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Safe and effective use of kitchen and housekeeping equipment
• Physically able to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods
• Commitment to confidentiality in accordance with Society and Fraser Health regulations
• Understanding and acceptance of the hospice philosophy of care
• Compassionate, respectful, and efficient approach to supporting patients, families, and guests

• Assist in preparing and serving patient meals, including accommodating special dietary needs
• Support baking and food preparation for special occasions
• Help develop menus as needed
• Wash, dry, and store dishes, pots, and utensils
• Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, equipment, and storage areas
• Maintain food safety and cleanliness standards in accordance with Health Regulations
• Monitor inventory of food and household supplies related to the kitchen
• Perform other kitchen-related duties as required
