Job Title: Cook Location: Marine Security Guard Residence (MSGR), U.S. Consulate General Jeddah, Saudi Arabia Type of Job: Full-time Position Schedule: Sunday through Thursday, 8 hours per day. Meal service hours are: Breakfast: 7:00 AM – 9:30 AM Lunch: 11:00 AM – 1:30 PM Dinner: 5:00 PM – 7:30 PM Duties: The applicant should: Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily for approximately eight (8) U.S. Marine Security Guards. Work closely with the Marine Detachment Mess Non-Commissioned Officer (Mess NCO) to develop weekly and monthly meal plans. Assist with grocery planning, food storage, and inventory management. Develop nutritious, well-balanced menus that provide multiple meal options throughout the week. Prepare and serve high-quality meals while maintaining consistency in food presentation and portion sizes. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, dining areas, dishes, cooking equipment, and appliances after each meal. Monitor food inventory and notify the Government when supplies require replenishment. Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards throughout food preparation and storage. Properly care for Government-furnished kitchen equipment and report maintenance issues when identified. Maintain a professional appearance and comply with all U.S. Consulate security policies and workplace standards. Qualifications: Minimum 3 years of experience managing food service operations in a restaurant, hotel, military dining facility, institutional kitchen, or similar environment. Demonstrated ability to prepare premium-quality meals and execute food service at a high professional standard. Strong knowledge of menu planning, food preparation, food storage, inventory management, and kitchen sanitation. Knowledge of food safety regulations and safe food handling practices. Physically fit for duty and medically certified free of communicable diseases. Ability to communicate effectively in English. Ability to successfully complete the required background investigation and security screening for access to the U.S. Consulate. Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organization, and customer service.
