Position Summary
The Cook will be responsible for preparing food to restaurant standards, with a special focus on making stocks, sauces, and base preparations that support the menu. This role also includes monitoring kitchen inventory to prevent shortages, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook food items according to restaurant recipes and quality standards.
  • Make stocks, broths, and sauces that serve as the foundation of dishes.
  • Monitor and maintain adequate stock levels for all ingredients and supplies.
  • Assist with ordering and receiving goods to prevent shortages.
  • Check freshness, quality, and proper storage of ingredients.
  • Keep a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment in line with food safety standards.
  • Work closely with the Owner to plan prep and maintain menu consistency.
  • Support other team members in busy periods as needed.

Skills & Requirements

  • Proven experience as a cook or kitchen assistant (restaurant or café experience preferred) 1 year minimum.
  • Knowledge of food safety, handling, and storage practices.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to follow recipes accurately and consistently.
  • Team player with good communication skills.
  • Physically able to handle kitchen duties (lifting, standing for long periods).

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $27.00 – $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
