JOB SUMMARY

As a member of our culinary team, a cook is responsible for the epicurean delight of our guests. Cooks are fun and professional individuals who excel in a high-volume, fast-paced, chef-driven kitchen. We are on the hunt for an experienced Line Cook to join our talented team and help prepare meals according to our standard recipes. In this position, your principal goal will be to prepare high-quality meals that meet the chef’s exact specifications. To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and multi-tasking skills. Ultimately, you will play an essential role in contributing to our guest satisfaction and restaurant growth.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Certificate in Culinary Arts or related field preferred
  • ServSafe certified
  • A minimum of 3+ years experience in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of restaurant best practices and cooking methods.
  • Team oriented
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Aptitude for multi-tasking.
  • Must be able to work cooperatively and efficiently in a team.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move product, equipment and supplies up to fifty (50) pounds
  • Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
  • Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock

Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all food prepared is of consistently high quality and that portions are consistently controlled. Food tickets are complete and out in a timely manner.
  • Reports to work in uniform at posted schedule times
  • Set up/prep station before service, maintains throughout service, and breaks down station according to kitchen standards daily
  • Covers, dates, and neatly stores all meats, poultry, seafood, and other food items.
  • Cleans and sanitizes according to state and local health and safety regulations
  • Notifies leaders in advance of all expected shortages
  • Ensures that work station and equipment are clean and sanitary
  • Maintains neat, professional appearance and observes personal cleanliness rules at all times
  • Keep par stocks at proper levels. Increase or decrease production as necessary
  • Inform management of any problems concerning food quality or production control
  • Attend all kitchen employee meetings
