In response to strong guest demand, we are relaunching our restaurant to offer a high-quality dining experience. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join our kitchen team and help us deliver consistent, delicious meals during our evening service.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Proven experience as a cook in a professional kitchen (hotel or restaurant experience preferred).
  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP certification is a plus).
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As a Cook at Mid City Hotel Ballarat, you will play a vital role in our restaurant’s relaunch, preparing and delivering high-quality dishes during our 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM service window, Monday through Friday. You will work closely with our team to ensure our guests enjoy a reliable and satisfying dining experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and cook dishes according to menu specifications and guest preferences.
  • Ensure consistent food quality and presentation during evening service (5:00 PM - 8:00 PM).
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen in compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Assist with inventory management, stock rotation, and supplier coordination.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth and efficient service.
  • Support the team in maintaining high standards during busy service periods.
