Description

The Role: We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic cook to join our team to independently provide onsite catering for staff and visitors at our Andover site. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food and possess strong culinary skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide meals and refreshments to staff, customers and visitors.
  • Plan a varied weekly menu, prepare and assemble ingredients, cook meals, manage and maintain stock.
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation requirements/guidelines ensuring

  • the hygienic handling of food.

  • sanitation and cleanliness of kitchen, canteen, break areas and all equipment.

  • food safety management and procedures are followed.

  • Provide general hosting duties to customers and visitors in a professional manner.

  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen.
  • Maintain accurate records and appropriate storage, dating, labelling, and rotation of all food items.
  • Monitor supplies and re-order stock as necessary.
  • Ensure all equipment is in good working order and report any issues to your line manager
  • Responsibly use resources and help control expenses.
  • Maintain a good food hygiene rating on inspection by Hampshire County Council.
  • Follow Health and Safety requirements, including use of PPE as required.
  • Undertake additional duties as and when required, as requested by line manager.

Key Requirements, Skills and Experience:

  • Previous hands-on experience working in a professional kitchen, preferably as a cook.
  • Food hygiene certificate and knowledge of safety regulations
  • Awareness of common allergens and ability to accommodate dietary restrictions
  • Ability to work under pressure, maintaining a high standard of work and good time management
  • Able to work independently

Salary and Benefits:

  • Excellent working conditions and reward
  • Salary: Up to £20,000 depending on experience
  • Discretionary End of year Bonus
  • Pension scheme (also after 3 years’ service; private Health scheme and Death in service benefit)
  • Holidays = 23 per year + bank holidays.

  • an additional day per year of service up to 5 to give 28 days per year + bank holidays after 5 years of service.
    Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
    Pay: Up to £20,000.00 per year
    Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
