Job Description We are looking for a part-time Cook who enjoys working as part of a team to create great food and beverage experiences for our guests. You will support the Kitchen team with daily tasks to ensure smooth service for breakfast, lunch and dinner shifts as well as in room dining. Offering the award rate of $27.08 per hour plus applicable penalty rates, this role offers a great development opportunity to grow your skills and confidence in a hotel in the heart of Melbourne's conferencing precinct and to be a part of the global Accor community. You must have Australian working rights and availability across several days/shifts to be considered for this role. Students are welcome to apply and it will be helpful to include your availability in your application. Your responsibilities will include: Prepare and ensure availability of mis en place as required Help chefs with food preparation, plating, and garnishing Maintain a clean and hygienic environment whilst maintaining high product quality and presentation Ensure strict stock rotation and minimum wastage Ensure your area of the kitchen is cleaned to the highest standards Ensure all equipment is cleaned and maintained, reporting any problems to the Head Chef Receive deliveries, unpack produce and store stock General Kitchen cleaning tasks Work closely with senior chefs to develop your culinary skills Qualifications Genuine interest in cooking and willingness to learn Experience in the food industry, with hotel or restaurant experience preferred Creative and passionate about food and customer service Completion of Food Safety/Food Handling course preferred Able to work in a high-pressure environment, and work as part of a team Currently completing culinary studies would be an advantage Additional Information Benefits and Perks At Accor, we are committed to ensuring our people feel welcome and valued by creating an inclusive and supportive environment.
