Schedule: Friday + Saturday (0630-1430) Sunday + Monday (1030 - 1830)
Compensation: $28.01 per hour plus extended Health and Dental benefits

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Cook you will play a vital role in ensuring that our residents receive nutritious, well-balanced, and delicious meals. You will work as part of a collaborative kitchen team and follow dietary guidelines tailored to our residents’ specific needs, including those with dietary restrictions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience as a cook, preferably in a long-term care or healthcare setting.
  • FoodSafe Certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, and nutrition for seniors.
  • Ability to follow recipes and special dietary plans.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook meals according to the facility’s menu and dietary plans.
  • Ensure meals meet the nutritional needs and preferences of residents.
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines, maintaining a clean kitchen environment.
  • Assist in the planning and preparation of special meals and events.
  • Maintain inventory of kitchen supplies and food items.
  • Work closely with other team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
  • Support special dietary requests, including those for residents with allergies, diabetes, or other health-related conditions.
  • Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion control.
