Job Details Level: Experienced Job Location: Girard College - Philadelphia, PA 19121 Position Type: Regular Part Time Education Level: High School/GED Salary Range: $23.95 - $23.95 Job Shift: Morning & Evening This Regular part-time position performs a variety of tasks that support the operations of Dining Services. This regular part-time position performs a variety of tasks that support the operations of Dining Service. The hours of work are anticipated as Saturday and Sunday. The shift will be 9:00 am – 5:30 pm. Work hours may vary as needs arise. This position in the Dining Service reports to the Dining Service Manager. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: Review menus on a daily basis Prepare all items on the menu in accordance with standard recipe cards and amounts listed on production sheet. Must have food on serving line 15 minutes prior to serving time. Bake all cakes, biscuits, cobblers, etc. in accordance with the production sheet. Record amount of food prepared, and amount left over on daily production sheet. Complete all other daily production needs (waste log, in/out leftover refrigeration log, recipe audits, and taste temperature log) Prepare food for employees’ cafeteria when assigned. Help serve food at mealtimes when necessary. Prepare food for special functions when necessary. Must maintain a clean and safe work area at all times, with the understanding that all equipment is to be cleaned after each use. Must follow all sanitation/food handling requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION, ABILITY AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: High School/GED Must be able to lift 50 pounds and be Serv Safe Certified. Ability to follow recipes and production sheets. Customer service orientation, organized and detail oriented, good communication skills and able to adhere to food handling/safety guidelines. Ability to operate kitchen & cleaning equipment. Must have Lead experience in institutional cooking / food preparation (3-5 years). Must be able to manage meal period and production.
Responsibilities
The Cook performs various tasks to support Dining Services, including preparing menu items and maintaining a clean work area. Responsibilities also include serving food and preparing for special functions as needed.
