Description COOK – Part Time - Greenwood Care, Evanston, IL Greenwood Care, a Specialized Mental Health Rehabilitation Facility (SMHRF) in Evanston, IL, has an Immediate Opening for an Experienced Cook. Responsibilities of the Successful Cook: Prepare food in a timely manner in accordance with dietary requirements Follow standardized recipes in food preparation Inspect special dietary trays before service to ensure they are correct May serve food on the food tray line Supervise and/or assist in receiving and check in of deliveries of food and supplies Follow work/cleaning schedules Maintain clean, organized and safe kitchen IND7 Requirements of the Successful Cook: Previous experience as a Cook Must have Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) Certification and Sanitation Certification Food Service Management Certification required Must be able to interpret Resident Diet Cards Capable of following written and oral instructions concerning methods of the preparation of foods and beverages Familiar with seasonings, understand cooking times and follow sanitation requirements Experience in a long term healthcare facility preferred Strong organizational skills Professional and personable demeanor Must have compassion, tolerance and understanding for patients Greenwood Care is a 24/7 facility dedicated to the treatment and recovery of individuals affected by chronic psychiatric disorders.
