Description Are you passionate about food and eager to take your culinary skills to the next level? The Hilltop Restaurant at Steele Hill Resort is searching for someone just like you to join our team. This positions plans, prepares, and cooks large quantities of food while striving for excellence in a fun and exciting work environment. Duties and Responsibilities Receive and read orders from guests Prepare and cook meats, fish, vegetables, salads, baked goods, other foods and special dishes according to menus, special dietary or nutritional restrictions and number of portions to be served. Weigh or measure ingredients, using recipes to produce a standard product Use appropriate cooking methods including baking, broiling, grilling, frying, etc. Plan work on orders so that items to be served together are finished at the same time Apportion, plate and garnish appetizers, soups, salads, entrees, vegetables and desserts Add seasonings to food during mixing or cooking. Observe and test food being cooked by tasting, smelling and testing with a thermometer to determine proper temperatures Make sandwiches, carve meats and cut or slice individual serving portions by hand or machine Pre-prep food items for following day as required Wash counters, food preparation equipment, cooking utensils, stoves, ovens, grills and refrigerators. May be required to wash pots, pans and dishes Assist in unloading, inspecting, and storing incoming food and cleaning supplies and verify packing lists Help to maintain proper storage and rotation of food products Follow all safety and health rules for sanitary food handling and work safely within established guidelines Other duties as assigned Requirements Certificates/Licenses: May require ServSafe Certification Physical Activity Requirements: Must be able to lift and carry between 11-25 lbs. daily and frequently. Must be able to lift and carry 25-50 lbs. for short distances frequently.
