Description Milestone Recovery is here to provide the best quality of services to empower individuals with substance use and behavioral health disorders to attain stability, dignity, recovery, and an enhanced quality of life. Per Diem Cook Position Profile: Responsible for executing meal preparation, plating, and kitchen upkeep on a Per Diem basis primarily at our Detox and Short-Term Residential facility (for 26 clients) in Portland. May also have opportunity to cover at our Shelter in downtown Portland, which serves 36 dinners per day. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Prepare meals for clients Keep kitchen, dining area and food storage clean, organized and in good condition Follow all state and federal food safety regulations Control and log temperatures for all equipment Attend occasional program staff meetings and appropriate trainings Perform other duties as assigned. Schedule: Varied day shifts, may include weekends Hourly: $21.00 per hour Physical demands and work environment: Freedom of movement on a regular basis. Operating kitchen equipment in a normal full service kitchen environment. Ability to lift up to 50lbs. May spend extended periods walking, twisting, bending, standing and lifting. Requirements High school diploma or GED equivalent. A valid Maine state driver’s license is required. A minimum of 1 year of institutional cooking experience. ServSafe certified is a plus.
