Key Responsibilities • Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and quality standards • Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service schedules • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and cooking areas • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times • Assist with inventory management and stock rotation • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations Skills and Qualifications • Proven experience as a cook or in a similar culinary role • Reliable and punctual, with a strong sense of responsibility • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training is a plus Pay Rate: $18.00–$20.00/hour, based on experience Requirements High School Diploma or GED required Prior cooking experience in a school, cafeteria, or commercial kitchen preferred Ability to follow recipes, food safety procedures, and production schedules Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, loud, and sometimes stressful school cafeteria environment Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs. Excellent time management and teamwork skills Must pass all required background checks per NYS
