Notts Hill House is looking to recruit a cook to join the team. This is a full time role.
Notts Hill House is located in the coastal town of Torquay in the county of Devon. We offer residential support for 15 males and females with an acquired brain injury (ABI), physical disabilities or a learning disability. We are set back on a quiet road, within walking distance from the beach and in close proximity to the town.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

You’ll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the service and to support the wellbeing of our residents. While your role doesn’t involve providing direct care, your contribution is vital in helping to maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for everyone. Whether you’re assisting with day-to-day operations, keeping things organised, or ensuring our spaces are well looked after, your support plays an important part in creating a positive experience for those who live and work here.

  • Ensures that stock ordering and rotation is organized in an efficient and cost effective manner.
  • Develops varied and interesting menus which take account of healthy eating guidelines and any dietary requirements of particular patient/pupil group.
  • Responsible for monitoring the Unit’s catering budget within Priory standards, taking account of cost per cover calculations, as well as ensuring best value and quality of ingredients in consultation with the line manager.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

The role holder will be numerate and literate, having received training to NVQ3 standard along with an Intermediate Food Safety Certificate. They will also have experience in preparing and cooking meals within a professional kitchen environment.
