Description Cook-PRN Veterans Services, Valor Home Summit Shift Worker, 20 Hours or Less/ Week $15.00/Hour Schedule: Weekends and some week days, as needed GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Manages a busy kitchen providing good quality meals for the Veteran’s therapeutic community. Works in collaboration with other cook and program staff to ensure quality, nutritious meals are served up to 30 veterans ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Plan menu and prepare food. 2. Orders and monitors supplies to ensure efficient operation. 3. Complies with agency policies and procedures, COA regulations, federal and state requirements, and educational/certification/registry requirements. 4. Other duties as assigned. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Must be enthusiastic, creative, and qualified to provide good quality meals. 2. Must be passionate about food, reliable, and hardworking. 3. Attention to detail as in demonstrated experience. 4. Ability to read, write, and follow instruction. 5. Valid Ohio Driver’s License and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability. 6. Must be able to meet agency requirements for criminal back ground check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation). 7. Must hold ServSafe Certification MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS: None MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Experience in Nutrition. Demonstrated experience in managing a busy kitchen including setting menus, ordering supplies and preparing meals. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 10 lbs. Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods during the work day.
