Description Quail Court Assisted Living Cook- Full Time Odessa, WA Description PRIMARY FOCUS Responsible for assisting with meal preparation, light cleaning duties, and ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly. Your primary goal will be to provide high-quality meals in a timely fashion while adhering to food safety regulations and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. QUALIFICATIONS · Assist with meal preparation, including cooking, baking, and ensuring meals are prepared in a timely fashion. · Follow the guidelines and regulations set by the Department of Health to ensure food safety and sanitation. · Maintain knowledge of proper temperatures for hot and cold holding, cooking temperatures, and the safe dating of food. · Help with food ordering and keeping track of inventory to ensure menu items are adequately stocked. · Assist in cleaning and disinfecting countertops, tables, and kitchen equipment to maintain a clean and sanitary work area. · Prepare tables before and after meals, ensuring they are properly set and cleaned. · Clean and organize the fridge and freezer, ensuring food is stored correctly on shelves. · Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen cupboards, ensuring they are properly sanitized. · Operate and maintain the dishwasher, ensuring it is properly used and cleaned. · Ensure trash is properly disposed of and emptied before the end of each shift. · Communicate with residents to understand their meal preferences and alternatives. · Aid other kitchen aides on the floor when needed. Requirements REQUIRED EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION · Must be 18 years or older. · Holds or is currently in the process of acquiring a food handlers’ permit. · Holds or is currently in the process of acquiring a First Aid/CPR card. · Background check, every two years. Required by DSHS. · Self-motivated and comfortable working independently with elderly and/or disabled individuals. · Proven experience working in a kitchen environment, preferably in a similar role. · Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling practices. · Familiarity with cooking techniques, baking, and meal preparation. · Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. · Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. · Good communication and interpersonal skills. · Ability to work independently and as part of a team. · Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS * Ability to lift heavy items up to 25lbs as needed during food service, inventory tasks, and kitchen equipment. * Frequent bending, reaching, and standing for long periods (8 hours or more) during meal preparation and service. * Capacity to move quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. * Ability to operate kitchen equipment, such as ovens, stoves, and mixers, safely and effectively. * Must be able to perform tasks that require manual dexterity, including chopping, mixing, and plating food.
