Description Come join our team…at SpringHill! SpringHill, a Christian camp in Evart, MI, is looking for an experienced cook. We are seeking an energetic, fun, organized Christian man or woman, who loves to cook, clean and teach others excellent kitchen skills. Our ideal candidate wants to serve in a team setting, loves the mission of SpringHill, and also works well with young people. Hours will vary based on the seasons. More hours will be required during the busy summer season. Starting pay is $15.00 an hour. Candidate must have reliable transportation and be able to work week days as well as weekends. Core Responsibilities of the position: Assists in the preparation, cooking and serving of meals for guest groups ranging from 150-1000 guests Responsible for proper food handling techniques including unloading trucks, food temperature and food storage Complies with national and local nutritional standards Trains others to prepare and cook food Implements appropriate food allergy and dietary needs developed by Dining Hall Manager Sets up food service, kitchen, or salad area facilities, equipment and utensils, under detailed instruction, in accordance with specific area needs; checks food temperatures and/or prepares areas for daily operations; may operate cooking or bakery equipment as assigned. May clean and maintain work areas, including floors, facilities, dishes, utensils, and equipment; collects and places garbage and trash in designated containers; as appropriate to the area of operation. Completes other duties as assigned by the Dining Hall Manager Requirements The Ideal Candidate Will: Be at least 18 years of age or older Have basic reading and math skills Have or be able to get ServSafe certification Be able to lift up to 30 pounds Be able to communicate and understand primary language(s) use by guests who typically visit the work location
Responsibilities
