St Beuno’s is one of the leading residential retreat centres in the UK, and indeed receives many visitors from around the world.
We want St Beuno’s to be a good place to work where people feel appreciated and respected, and where people have the opportunity to grow and change.
To help us to continue to flourish we are now looking for a self-motivated cook.
The role is for 25 hours per week between the hours of 6am and 8pm, with a degree of flexibility to ensure a continued service at all times. Paid overtime will be necessary at times and after prior arrangement to cover for holidays and sickness absence.
This role will pay £12.95 per hour with any overtime paid at the same rate.
The successful candidate will have responsibility for the preparation and cooking of breakfast, lunch and dinner and cater for dietary needs following a 4 week rolling menu that is counter self-service.

Responsibilities

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Cooking of meals for guests, staff and residents
  • Receive and check delivery of goods and assist in stock rotation
  • To ensure that all food is kept securely, under the conditions suitable for it
  • To ensure that all policies are adhered to
  • To provide fresh, tasty and attractive food for the residents, staff and guests
  • Catering for dietary requirements as necessary
  • To maintain good portion control and a pleasing presentation of all dishes
  • to main the high levels of cleanliness and health and safety that is expected in a level 5 hygiene rated establishment. Where necessary training will be given

To be considered for this role we need someone who:

  • Has food safety qualifications or is working towards them
  • Has previous experience in a similar catering role
  • Has good communication skills
  • Is calm, well organised and able to work within a team
  • Is flexible and a multi-tasker whilst maintaining an eye for detail
  • Is reliable and an excellent time keeper
