T&H Catering Services, operating within Glenorie RSL at 3 Post Office Road, Glenorie, NSW, is a trusted local caterer serving the Hills District community. Their offerings are designed to meet diverse dietary preferences, ensuring a personalized experience for each event. T&H Catering Services collaborates closely with Glenorie RSL to offer comprehensive event packages, including venue hire and catering, with clear guidelines on bookings and payments to ensure smooth event planning . We are seeking an experienced Cook to join our culinary team. The Cook should be able to complete: - Core Culinary Duties including examining food to ensure quality; Execute food production with precision; preparing and cooking food; assist with head chef to plan and prepare a diverse range of menu items; - Kitchen Operations & Management: Manage kitchen workflow during events, coordinating timing so all dishes are prepared and served on schedule; Supervise and train junior staff (e.g. cooks, kitchen hands), delegate station responsibilities, and support team development - Food Safety & Hygiene: Enforce strict food safety and sanitation practices across food prep, storage, and service areas, ensuring compliance with NSW and Australian health standards -Oversee kitchen cleanliness, equipment maintenance, workstation sanitation, and end-of-shift cleanup - Event Coordination & Client Communication: Collaborate with event planners and clients (including Glenorie RSL event coordinators) and work with head chef to develop custom menus; Adapt last-minute changes gracefully, such as guest count adjustments or special menu requests, and resolve any food-related issues - Reporting & Continuous Improvement: Prepare production sheets and post-event reports, documenting quantities prepared, leftovers, wastage, and staffing needs to inform future planning; Solicit and respond to client feedback etc. Skills and experience required: - At least relevant Certificate IV or above qualification with at least one years of experience - At least three-year relevant experience may be accepted without formal qualification - Strong communication and ability to follow direction - Flexibility across shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays - Applicants must possess the unrestricted ability to work and live in Australia - Applicants must have their own private vehicle as public transport has limited access to the area. - Current Food Handler’s Certificate or willingness to obtain one
Job Type: Casual
Pay: $26.00 – $32.00 per hour
