Position Overview: Assists in the development of menus and orders food as needed. Prepares, cooks, and serves food according to menus. Cleans work area, dishes, utensils, and equipment. Responsibilities: Assists in the development of menus and monitors food supply needs. Assists in determination of food quantities required for meals and maintains inventory. Prepares food/cooks soups, gravies, desserts, sauces and casseroles, meats, fish, vegetables, etc, using appropriate methods. Regularly tests and documents food temperatures to determine proper cooking time. Carves meat and serves food. Keeps kitchen area clean and sanitary; washes pots, pans, and utensils; cleans stoves, counter tops and cabinets, refrigerators and freezers. Ability to work in a team. Very good communication skills Performs other duties within the individual’s capabilities as assigned by supervisor. Ability to appropriately interact with vulnerable population. Assist in Meal planning, cooking, and maintain inventory. Lifting of food containers up to 50lbs, standing, sitting, Meet State Good Moral Character guidelines. Valid and Current Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
Responsibilities
The Cook assists in menu development, prepares and cooks food, and maintains a clean kitchen environment. Responsibilities also include monitoring food supply needs and ensuring proper food temperatures.
