Overview Willow Valley Communities is hiring Full Time and Part Time Cooks to join our Culinary Team! We are seeking Cooks that are friendly, enjoys interacting with others and whose goal it is to provide cooking that will enhance our Residents' dining experience. Our dining venues include grill stations, display cooking, tray lines, buffet style, country kitchens, and restaurant style settings. Opportunities with WVC: PTO package Scholarship and Tuition Reimbursement opportunities Career growth opportunities Use of amenities, such as our fitness center, spa, cafes and swimming pools Plus many more Wage: $18/hr Responsibilities: Reads menu, procures food from storage areas and utilizes standardized recipes to prepare food items for the meal period. Measures and mixes ingredients accurately. Reviews any modifications to recipes to meet quality standards with Cook 2, Sous Chef or Chef. Observes and tests food being cooked by properly taste testing and taking food temperatures using proper ServSafe procedures and guidelines. Food preparation and cooking skills include but are not limited to: measuring, washing, peeling, cutting, grilling, baking, roasting, broiling, steaming, carving and portioning foods. Monitors food quantities and quality during the meal period in a menu, buffet or display cooking setting. Maintains a cleaning schedule to assure work areas are kept clean and sanitary. Assures kitchens and related areas are set up and cleaned up using established cleaning guidelines and checklists. Practices the proper operation of equipment to ensure personal safety and avoid damage to equipment. Responsible to assure proper records are maintained for food production and ordering within the food management system. Follow Willow Valley’s HACCP plan and all related food safety policies and procedures. Qualifications: 1+ years experience as a Line Cook in a non-fast food restaurant setting Hours: Full Time and Part Time Schedule: Full Time schedule: 11:00am-7:30pm + 2 weekends on & 1 weekend off + some holidays Part Time schedules: 10:30am-7:00pm Monday, Friday, Saturday Sunday 3:00pm-7:30pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday + every other weekend and every other holiday 3:00pm-7:30pm every Saturday and Sunday + every other holiday Location: Willow Valley Communities Lancaster or Willow Street, PA #COOK111
