Responsibilities

THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Cook passionate about a person-centered approach to care, to join our Catering Team on a full-time basis. We are ideally looking for someone who is able to work full time on a permanent basis, although for the right candidate flexibility is on offer.
Reporting to the Head Chef, the cook provides a nutritious, appetising, and varied menu for residents that enhance their quality of life. This menu is nutritionally sound, is aligned to residents’ individual medical and other needs and preferences, the Aged Care Quality standards, and regulatory requirements, and is delivered within budget.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Cook is responsible for ensuring:

  • Manage all aspects of the kitchen section, including training, leading and inspiring the Kitchen team to ensure a highly-skilled, well-organised and motivated team.
  • Ensure food safety standards, preparation, presentation and cooking techniques are established, monitored and maintained to meet current Food Concept guidelines
  • Delivery of food is executed in a timely manner
  • Undertake ordering of stock for all kitchen areas needs, ensuring orders across sections are condensed to reduce excessive stock, and par stock levels are maintained
