The Role:
We are looking for a skilled, experienced and friendly cook to join our elite team! This position plays a big role in creating the best dishes. ABOUT YOU – SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience as a cook
  • Holds at least AQF Certificate III or AQF Certificate IV in commercial cookery
  • Experience in middle eastern cuisine will be considered a plus
  • Excellent English speaking and writing skills
  • Cooperate with all wait and kitchen staff
  • Food safety and hygiene training
  • Previous experience in a fine-dining venue
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Reliable and motivated

Responsibilities
  • Preparation and estimate of F&B costs
  • Preparation of raw material (RM) to semi-finished good (SFG) to finished good (FG)
  • Solid experience in working with high end commercial kitchen equipment such as but not limited to chargrill, deep fryers, oven, robo-coupe blixer
  • Prepare the ingredients for cooking
  • Seasoning food and other ingredients in preparation for cooking
  • Examine food materials to ensure the highest quality
  • Portion control and quantities for from raw material to platting including garnishes and sauces
  • Work efficiently to minimise food waste
  • Perform frequent checks on products to ensure consistent high-quality preparation and food quality
  • Prepare dishes to meet special dietary requirements
  • Ensure all commercial kitchen equipment and areas are well maintained
  • Strive to meet target in accordance with the management team
  • Must be available to work evenings and both days at the weekends (peak periods)
  • Ensure sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas at all times
  • Train subordinate and trainee staff
  • Adhere to all relevant NSW health department rules/regulations and all customer service guidelines
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times
  • Perform other related duties as required
