COOKING INSTRUCTOR

General Function: The McGivney Center is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Cooking Instructor to join our after-school program. This role is perfect for someone who loves working with children, enjoys sharing a passion for food and can create a fun, engaging, and safe learning environment. The instructor will lead hands-on cooking classes designed to teach kids basic cooking skills, kitchen safety, nutrition, and creativity in the kitchen.

• Plan and lead age-appropriate cooking lessons for children in grades K-8
• Teach students kitchen safety, proper food handling and healthy eating habits
• Foster a positive, supportive and engaging classroom environment.
• Shop, prepare and organize ingredients, materials and equipment for classes
• Maintain a clean and safe cooking space, following all health and safety standards.
• Communication with program staff as needed about class activities
  Qualifications: Background in cooking, culinary arts, nutrition or related field, preferred. Experience teaching or working with children. Strong classroom management and communication skills. Ability to create fun, hands-on and age-appropriate cooking lessons.
  Part-time position: September – June, 3:00 –5:30pm, Monday - Friday
  Salary: Per Hour salary based upon experience
