REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be willing to work in office in Westmount two (2) days a week on Tuesdays/Thursdays.
  • Must have an entrepreneurial spirit and a “can-do” attitude.
  • Must have some experience working in payroll and knowledge of payroll management systems.
  • Must have a passion for people.
  • A diploma or certificate in Payroll administration and or Human Resources or a similar degree is considered a strong asset
  • Experience with BambooHR is considered a strong asset
  • Excellent communication skills both written and spoken in French and English. English is required for 50% of the job tasks. Employee processes Payroll and must conduct interviews for employees in the province of Ontario and Manitoba. They must equally communicate with these provincial government bodies in their role.

  • Computer literacy, including effective working skills in Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently
  • Must be well-organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to think independently and work well with limited supervision
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with our payroll manager to assist in the completion of the full cycle of payroll processing for all salaried and hourly employees bi-weekly.
  • Administer benefits including group insurance enrolment, VRSP, salary adjustments, and process terminations.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date record keeping.
  • Ensure the creation and timely distribution of T4/RL1 as well as end of year reporting requirements.
  • Answer employee questions regarding payroll, group insurance and VRSP programs.
  • Provide employee support and respond to various employee requests.
  • Assist with the recruitment and interview process.
  • Assist with on boarding and off boarding employees
  • Assist with preparation of performance review process.
  • Assist with the updating of company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by HR Manager and Accounting Manager.
